Ram Charan’s ‘Peddi’ First Look Sparks Excitement & Debate

On March 27, 2025, Ram Charan’s highly anticipated 16th film, Peddi, was unveiled on his 40th birthday. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film promises an intense sports-action drama, and the two first-look posters have ignited social media discussions.

Charan’s rugged avatar—complete with messy hair, a beard, a nose ring, and a fierce gaze—has fans thrilled. One poster features him lighting a beedi with a piercing stare, while the other shows him holding a cricket bat in a rural setting, hinting at the film’s sports theme. While many praised his raw intensity, others pointed out similarities to Pushpa: The Rise, sparking debates on originality.

Critics argue that the rustic vibe and beedi-lighting pose closely resemble Allu Arjun’s Pushpa look, especially with Sukumar Writings backing both films. However, Charan’s fans counter that his Rangasthalam role set the template for such characters long before Pushpa. As a matter of fact it is Ram charan who paved the path for all the RAW and Rustic genre in TFI, hence fans are also adressing him as RAWm CHARAN.

With a star-studded cast including Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jagapathi Babu, and music by AR Rahman, Peddi is set for release in March 2026. While comparisons to Pushpa persist, only time will tell if Peddi can carve its own identity.
