Game Changer Piracy: Will There Be Serious Action or Silence Like Pawan Kalyan?
Game Changer, a film starring Ram Charan and directed by Shankar, was released on January 10th. The film was highly anticipated as it marked Ram Charan’s standalone project after RRR, and it was directed by Shankar. Kiara Advani played the female lead, while SJ Suryah portrayed the antagonist. The film was produced by Dil Raju under the SVC Productions banner, with the highest budget of his career.
The film faced multiple challenges from the very beginning, including Shankar’s issues with Lyca Productions regarding Indian 2, and the leak of the song Jaragandi. However, the most shocking incident occurred when a pirated copy of the film was released at 10 AM on the day of the film’s release. To make matters worse, an NTR fan named ViswaTarak posted the entire story of the film four days before its release. Another NTR fan, Vijay Tarak, even threatened to leak the HD version of the film within two days after its release.
Today, the Game Changer team issued a press note informing the media that they had received threats days before the release, demanding money to prevent the piracy of the film. They also stated that they had filed cybercrime complaints against 45 individuals responsible for the piracy. In the cyber complaint the makers filed, they’ve attached a few screenshots of the individuals threatening to leak the film and the people who leaked the story.
A few years ago, Power Star Pawan Kalyan faced a similar issue when the entire first half of Attarintiki Daredi was leaked online days before its release, which shocked everyone. Despite the leak, the film performed very well at the box office. During the success meet, Pawan Kalyan mentioned that he knew who was responsible for the piracy and that strong action would be taken against them. However, there was no follow-up from him or the production team on the matter.
As of now, the makers didn’t take any kind of action against the people responsible for the leak of Jaragandi song. Now, it remains to be seen whether the Game Changer team will take strong action against those responsible for the piracy or whether they will remain silent, much like Pawan Kalyan and his team did during the Attarintiki Daredi issue.
