Karthik Subbaraj Plans to Release Unseen “Retro” Footage as Netflix Series

Retro, starring Suriya and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, with Pooja Hegde as the female lead, failed to make an impact at the box office. The film was recently released on Netflix, but the response there has also been underwhelming.

In a recent interview, director Karthik Subbaraj expressed his interest in releasing the scenes that were edited out from the final cut. He mentioned that a significant amount of content, including sequences related to laughter therapy, martial arts, and the island setting, did not make it to the theatrical or OTT release.

Subbaraj revealed that he wishes to compile and release this unreleased material as a short series on Netflix. While the general audience has moved on from Retro, it remains to be seen whether Karthik Subbaraj will succeed in bringing his extended vision to life through this proposed series.
