When can we expect Vishwambhara?

Vishwambhara, a socio-fantasy film starring Megastar Chiranjeevi and directed by Vasishta, has become one of the most keenly awaited projects in Telugu cinema. Initially planned for release ahead of Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, the film was postponed after the glimpse received mixed feedback, prompting the makers to invest additional time and effort into strengthening the VFX-heavy portions. Following the success of Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, attention has now firmly shifted to Vishwambhara.

Given the film’s fantasy-driven narrative, visual effects play a pivotal role. Nearly eight VFX studios across the globe are reportedly working on the project, underlining the scale and ambition involved. Director Vasishta, in multiple interviews, has emphasized that VFX is the backbone of Vishwambhara, and the producers are said to be uncompromising on quality. Chiranjeevi himself is aligned with the producers’ vision, insisting that the film meets the highest technical standards before release.

The VFX work is expected to be completed by the end of February, with the first copy likely to be ready around the same time. Only after reviewing the final output will the makers lock in the release date. However, industry buzz suggests that a summer release in April or May is the most probable option. Considering the film’s genre, which strongly appeals to children and family audiences, the summer holiday window is seen as the most advantageous period.

In parallel, the producers are working on closing the non-theatrical deals. Vishwambhara features Trisha as the female lead, with Ashika Ranganath and Surabhi playing key roles. Bollywood actress Mouni Roy is also set to make a splash with a special song appearance. With its scale, genre, and star power, Vishwambhara is shaping up to be a major summer attraction.
