At a time when OTT platforms are significantly reducing their spending on digital rights, film producers are facing mounting challenges in recovering budgets. With theatrical revenues also under pressure, OTT deals were once a reliable safety net for producers. However, as streaming platforms tighten their purses, filmmakers are now being forced to explore alternative revenue streams to stay afloat.

Amid this difficult market scenario, actor Nani has achieved a rare and notable feat with the OTT deals of his upcoming projects. He is currently working on The Paradise, whose digital rights have already been acquired by streaming giant Netflix. Although the film was initially announced for a March release, the current pace of production makes a March release unlikely.

What has truly caught the industry’s attention is Nani’s next project after The Paradise, an action entertainer in collaboration with director Sujeeth. According to credible industry sources, the digital rights of this yet-to-go-on-floors film have been sold for nearly 10 percent more than The Paradise. This is a significant achievement, especially in a market where OTT platforms are consistently revising their valuations downward. The deal clearly reflects the strong buzz and confidence surrounding the Nani–Sujeeth combination. Notably, this film marks Sujeeth’s next venture after OG, starring Pawan Kalyan.

What makes this development even more remarkable is that the OTT deal was closed even before the film officially went on sets. Meanwhile, The Paradise is expected to complete shooting by April or May, with plans for a June theatrical release. Following that, the Nani–Sujeeth project is likely to go on floors in June or July. There are also reports suggesting that the makers are eyeing a Sankranthi 2027 release, positioning the film as a major festive attraction.
