Posani Krishna Murali arrested

Hyderabad: Actor and director Posani Krishna Murali was arrested by Rayachoti Police on Tuesday night at My Home Bhuja, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. His arrest is linked to cases filed against him for controversial remarks made in 2021 against Pawan Kalyan and his minor daughter.

In 2021, Posani made highly objectionable comments about Pawan Kalyan and his daughter, sparking widespread outrage. The remarks were strongly condemned, and Pawan Kalyan himself addressed his party supporters at the party office the following day.

In 2022, the YSRCP government appointed Posani as the Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Film Development Corporation (APFDC). However, after the formation of the alliance government in 2024 with a massive majority, he resigned from his position and maintained a low profile. Despite his silence, several supporters of Pawan Kalyan and Chandrababu Naidu lodged complaints against him, prompting the police to take action.

On Tuesday night, Rayachoti Police arrested Posani at his residence in My Home Bhuja, booking him under a non-bailable offense.

It is worth noting that just a few days ago, AP Police also arrested Vallabhaneni Vamsi, who was residing in the same apartment complex.
