Anil Ravipudi: The Director Producers Love

Anil Ravipudi is currently one of the most successful directors in the Telugu film industry, consistently delivering hits since his directorial debut. His recent film, Sankranthiki Vasthunam, released during Sankranthi and became a massive blockbuster. He is now directing Megastar Chiranjeevi’s 157th film, produced by Sahu Garapati.

In a recent interview, Sri Venkateswara Creations (SVC) producer Shirish praised Anil Ravipudi as his favorite director. Shirish stated that it’s a mistake for producers to try to control a film’s budget by forcing heroes to reduce their remuneration, as actors deserve to be paid according to their market demand and ability to pull audiences to theaters. However, he emphasized that it’s the producer’s responsibility to manage the overall budget and ensure it doesn’t spiral out of control. He added that producers appreciate directors who make efforts to reduce costs below the estimated budget.

Sharing an example, Shirish revealed that during the current shoot of Chiranjeevi’s film, Anil completed the Dehradun schedule five days ahead of plan because all outdoor scenes were finished early. Anil suggested moving the remaining scenes to Hyderabad, saving a significant amount of money for the production. Shirish highlighted that producers love directors who think about cost efficiency in this way.

He went on to credit Anil Ravipudi for helping SVC recover from the losses of Game Changer with the blockbuster success of Sankranthiki Vasthunam. Shirish concluded by saying that when directors actively work to reduce unnecessary expenses, producers are eager to continue collaborating with them. He confirmed that Anil will keep working on films alternately with SVC and other production houses.
