Vishwambhara Update: Makers Still Struggling to Finalize Release Plans

Vishwambhara, the socio-fantasy film starring Megastar Chiranjeevi, generated massive expectations upon its announcement. However, the hype took a hit after the release of the first glimpse, which drew criticism due to subpar VFX. Taking the feedback seriously, the makers have since been working on improving the visual effects, understanding that quality VFX is critical for a socio-fantasy film like Vishwambhara.
While this dedication to quality is commendable, the extended delay is testing the patience of fans and the audience. Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi has already moved on to his next project with director Anil Ravipudi and is reportedly wrapping it up quickly with the aim of releasing it for Sankranthi as planned.
Usually, there needs to be a proper gap between two films of a major star, and if Vishwambhara continues to be delayed, the makers risk losing that ideal window. As of now, there still seems to be no clarity regarding the film’s release date.
According to recent reports, one special song is yet to be filmed. The team is currently on the lookout for a senior actress to feature in it, but no one has been finalized yet. The makers need to act swiftly to lock the cast and complete the remaining work if they aim for a timely release.
There is speculation that Vishwambhara might be considered for a Dasara release in September—provided OG, which is slated to release on September 25, gets postponed. However, this seems unlikely. Netflix, which has acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights for OG, is reportedly firm on the release date. DVV Movies, the producers of OG, also appear committed to the announced schedule, even if Hari Hara Veera Mallu arrives in July.
Directed by young filmmaker Vassishta, Vishwambhara stars Trisha as the female lead, with Ashika Ranganath playing a key role. M.M. Keeravani is composing the music, while Chota K. Naidu handles cinematography. The film is being produced by UV Creations.
