Roshan Meka, son of actor Srikanth, made his debut with Pelli SandaD, which also marked the debut of Sreeleela. While the film introduced both newcomers, their career trajectories took very different paths thereafter. It took nearly four years for Roshan to come up with his second film, Champion, whereas Sreeleela quickly rose through the ranks, starring in multiple films, including projects opposite top stars like Mahesh Babu.

Champion marks Roshan Meka’s second outing as a lead actor, and he reportedly waited close to three years for the film to materialise. However, the response to his performance and appearance, especially after the release of the song Gingaragirey, has worked strongly in his favour. Many viewers have praised his screen presence, with some even referring to him as the “Hrithik of the South,” a comparison that has significantly boosted his visibility.

With Champion now out in theatres, Roshan is said to be keen on making up for lost time. According to industry sources, major production houses such as Geetha Arts and Sithara Entertainments have shown interest in collaborating with him. It is being strongly reported that Allu Aravind will be producing Roshan Meka’s next film, although other details about the project are yet to be officially announced.

There are also unconfirmed reports suggesting that noted filmmaker Gautam Vasudev Menon may direct Roshan’s upcoming project. While no formal confirmation has been made, the prospect of Roshan Meka working under Gautham Menon’s direction has already generated excitement. The genre has not been revealed, but given Roshan’s age and image, industry circles expect a youthful romantic film.

Having waited nearly three years for Champion, Roshan Meka is now reportedly in no mood to slow down and is planning to sign films back-to-back. In a highly competitive industry, this approach could prove crucial for establishing momentum. Much will now depend on script selection and consistency in performances as he looks to carve a space for himself as a leading hero.

Champion, starring Roshan Meka and Anaswara Rajan, released in theatres two days ago. Set against the backdrop of 1948, the film is based in the village of Bhairan Palli and revolves around its courageous resistance against the atrocities of the Razakars. The film is produced by Swapna Cinema, with music composed by Mickey J Meyer, whose soundtrack has received a positive response.
