Empuraan Sets Records Before Release

Mohanlal’s highly anticipated film L2: Empuraan, the sequel to Lucifer, is all set for a grand worldwide release on March 27. The excitement around the film has skyrocketed, especially after the recently released trailer, which has further intensified the buzz.
Even before its release, L2: Empuraan is making waves with its booking trends. Advance sales opened yesterday, and within Kerala alone, over 96,000 tickets were booked per hour on BookMyShow—a record-breaking feat.
As part of the film’s promotions in Telugu states, the team is currently in Hyderabad. In a recent interview, director and actor Prithviraj Sukumaran revealed that Mohanlal did not take any remuneration for the film. Instead, the entire budget, including what would have been his payment, was invested into the film’s production. Prithviraj assured that the audience will witness the quality on screen as a result.
Prithviraj, who is also playing a key role in the highly anticipated SSMB29, shared some insights about the project. He mentioned that he has been involved in the film for over a year and is actively working on it. Addressing the recent leaked footage from the sets, he expressed disappointment, stating, “I don’t understand why people are so fascinated with leaked videos. It ruins the big-screen experience and the excitement of the film. As the project is still in production, I can’t reveal much, but let’s hope the team shares updates soon.”
With L2: Empuraan set for release on March 27 amidst massive expectations, all eyes are on whether the film will live up to the hype.
