Two top Indian actors, Salman Khan and Dulquer Salmaan, have landed in legal trouble over their brand endorsements.
A consumer court in Kota, Rajasthan, issued a notice to Salman Khan after a complaint alleged that his pan masala advertisement was misleading, claiming the product contained saffron despite its low price.
Meanwhile, the Kerala Consumer Commission sent a notice to Dulquer Salmaan, brand ambassador of Rose biryani rice, following a food poisoning incident at a wedding where the rice was reportedly used. The complainant alleged that the rice lacked proper labeling and expiry details.
Both cases highlight growing accountability for celebrities endorsing consumer products.
