Akira’s Excitement Over Storyboards Made Pawan Kalyan Say Yes to OG

Akira Nandan involvement in OG

They Call Him OG, starring Pawan Kalyan and directed by Sujeeth, released on September 25 and is running successfully in theatres. The film has turned out to be the blockbuster that fans had long been waiting for, with Sujeeth delivering exactly what the Power Star’s audience craved.

The team recently celebrated the film’s success with an indoor event attended by the cast and crew. During his speech, Pawan Kalyan revealed some interesting behind-the-scenes details about how the project came to life. He shared that Sujeeth never narrated the full story of OG to him. Instead, Sujeeth gave him just a one-line idea along with a few illustrated pictures. When Pawan took the booklet home, his son Akira was captivated by the storyboards. Excited by Akira’s reaction, Pawan decided to take up the film.

Pawan further added that Akira was particularly emotional about the death of the character Deena, played by Harish Uttaman. Akira kept asking how Deena could return in the next part, to which Pawan said, “It’s all in Sujeeth’s hands.”

Fans initially expected Akira to make an appearance in OG, especially as the “Junior OG.” However, director Sujeeth clarified in an interview that he didn’t want Akira to play a minor role lasting just ten minutes. He felt Akira deserved something more substantial in the future, hence choosing not to cast him this time.

The highlight of the success meet came when Pawan Kalyan officially confirmed the expansion of the OG Universe, declaring, “Let’s work on a prequel and sequel of OG.” This announcement sent fans into a frenzy, as they eagerly look forward to seeing more of Pawan Kalyan as Ojaas Gambheera (Orochi Genishin) in upcoming installments.
